monday, july 19, 2010. here is a peek into aunt mic's shop, THE IVY ARBOR. it's a fabulous floral and gift shop that has serviced the cissna park area for over 11 years. uncle rex originally owned the store. then aunt mic acquired it about 6 years ago. unfortunately, if you're a patron, and fortunately, if you're mic, the store will be CLOSING SOON. Aunt micky wanted, and is looking forward to having more free time to hang out with all her grandbabies (there will soon to be 6 of them) or go on spur of the moment motorhome trips. so, like the rest of cissna park, this was my last opportunity to buy fun stuff to take back home:( i'll miss getting to looky-loo around.
i have a pic of joshua, levi (when 5 months old), and aunt mic standing here the 1st year we came. it's at home on a back up, but i want to do a side by side.
the variety of gifts available has evolved over the years, but what hasn't changed is the fact that i want every piece i see.
picture frames, wall art, silk floral arrangements, tin stars, garden art, rock art, gazing balls, wall words, jewelry, cards, lamps, trellises. you name it, she's got it.
unique salvaged windows and doors hung throughout!
great iron furniture and old tin ceilings...
treasures everywhere you look.
you could spend hours looking all around and still not see everything.
it was a great place to buy thank you presents to give to all the family who make our trips possible, from the free air fare from my parents, to free places to stay with g'ma erm, aunt denise, and this year aunt mic and uncle ralph. i'm gonna miss this place, but i'm excited for aunt mic and all the freedom she'll have to hang with family.
