laundry day in wickenburg, then off to yarnell.

monday, october 11, 2010.
the boys and i headed to wickenburg this afternoon to do a couple loads of laundry while our machine is waiting to be repaired. poppy and ma's machines are going into the cabin tomorrow morning, so i saved two loads to do there too. g'ma and espen met us and we enjoyed being outside in beautiful weather while taking in the scenery of wickenburg!
this is the design i hope to have in our shutters some day. just imagine this pic turned 90 degrees.

the moon a little closer.
a painting done by my grandma battaglia. the colors are so vivid, almost whimsical. the photo doesn't do it justice because of the flash, but when i turned the flash off it was even worse. just need to see it in person, in daylight. i hope to inherit this someday. my dad said i have to paint all my baseboards first. hmmm...might be a while;)

bypassing phoenix. stopped in wickenburg on the way to yarnell. beautiful lizard.

saturday, july 24, 2010. we grabbed some lunch before heading to amanda's house to pick up our car. joshua took my car and headed to our house to water some plants and pick up the mail. g'pa, g'ma, the kiddos and i continued on to YARNELL with a little stop over in WICKENBURG.
1st stop. IN-N-OUT for some good grub.
beautiful sky at my parents house in wickenburg.
...
silhouette.
thousands of CARPENTER ANTS come out of the ground and swarm my parents place every year after the 1st huge rainstorm of the summer. this is just one scoop from the pool. my poor dad would have to scoop for hours to get them all out. ma has to clean the inside of the house several times over the course of a week until they all die! they come in through the fireplace. yikes! today they will just let them be because we are heading to yarnell.
watching SPROUTS upstairs.
abraham watching cartoons while g'ma gets packed up.
a picture that hangs in the hallway at my parents house. it looks like a pic from the 1800's but it actually from 1975ish. that's maaa...holding me, aunt kelley is on the left and aunt terri is on the right. i've always loved this picture, so i snapped it as i was going by.
can you see what i see?
the big guy on the left had all these beautiful markings. i think that's his lady friend on the right.
the spots on his back were iridescent and he had a TURQUOISE belly.
you have to click on the picture to enlarge it. he's something else. this is at 10x optical zoom, so he didn't turn out as crisp as i wanted him too, but you get the gist.
a little LIZARD friend right above the door at the yarnell cabin.
the boys headed right to the SAND PILE.
diggin' in. gettin' dirty.
all kinds of crazy bugs and insects to be found around here. fuzzy legged SPIDER?
this is what i was so excited to see. my parents bought this AIR HOCKEY/ping pong/pool table while we were gone. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
the boys were pretty stoked about it too. we had to get abraham a step stool though because it is super tall.
levi took all the pucks and put them on the table. that way we all had ones to hit.
oops. one got by him. GOAL!
levi's gonna rock it someday.
then it was off the set up the train and play with construction toys. abe's cutting g'ma's let.
then he came to cut mine. thanks abe.
it had been a while since they got to play with these toys.
hammering. abe loves this toy.
oh CHAI LATTE how i missed you! though aunt mic found me a chai i ended up really liking while we were in illinois.
after dinner joshua and i got to get online while...
g'ma and g'pa watched NEMO with the boys. it's nice to be home.
