sunday, july 18, 2010. mic told us about the 3rd SUNDAY MARKET in BLOOMINGTON shortly after we arrived in illinois. it sounded cool so we put it on the calendar. today was the day. we found so many cool things, but not to much that was suitcase packable. i am excited about what we did get and the ADVENTURE it led to:)

joshua ordered these too, but we didn't even put a dent in them.

there were 5 gigantic tin sheds like this one. plus 2 enclosed buildings the same size.
then there were tons of outside VENDORS as well. this one had super cool METAL ART.
besides the tin chickens and metal bottle tree stands, this was my favorite. it's a bird with a flower in his mouth on a stand that has more flowers, leaves and a bird house.

joey was timing while joshua counted how many times around these were going in one minute. then they divided by pie and stuff. it concluded nothing. it was pretty funny. we were cracking up.
so strange to see these in big open fields instead of with a mountain backdrop like in california.

joshua wanted me to see all these GRAIN ELEVATORS in gibson city. he had been through here to pick up his parents. you drive thru nothing but fields for ever and then come upon this. it's pretty impressive.

this is where the ADVENTURE BEGINS. i bought an aqua colored glass insulator at the market. we started collecting them several years ago. while we were driving home we saw tons of them on abandoned electrical lines. we told aunt mic and joey how we tried to get some when we were here last year, but they were a lot higher than we thought when we got out of the car. (they were in a ditch:) we saw one pole that was falling apart so we turned around, crossed the railroad track and parked next to a corn field. while walking to the poles we had to cross a railroad tied bridged, which was freaky.
hard to see, but were hundreds of yellow BUTTERFLIES fluttering around.

this is how high they are. once again it was deceiving because the weeds grow so tall. it didn't stop joshua from scoring a couple though.

aunt mic found an anchor for $8.00. it'll replace the one that went overboard on our boat trip. and hopefully she wont be made fun of anymore for letting it go:)

these are my finds. 2 aprons, an insulator, 2 bracelets, and a ring. i'd of bought so much more, but budget and baggage didn't allow.
apparently these are all the rage with the hispanic kids at joshua's school. i like mexi santos art and it was $2.00. i love them anyway.

joshua's rusty metal finds. i'm excited about the COBBLERS SHOE. now we'll have four. uncle ralph gave joshua the leg that the shoe stands on. it was up in the hay mount. it had a shoe attatched to it too. so, i guess that make five. woo hoo.
