abraham's 2nd birthday party (part 1)...decorating and the thunderstorm that almost caused us to postpone the party!

saturday. june 12, 2010. so we billed abraham's 2nd birthday party as a way to BEAT THE HEAT. it's june in arizona. it made sense. we set up our 2 large pools. were going to put out a sprinkler sprayer. we bought squirt guns. necklace squirters. a slip n slide. otter pops. we were ready for the party to get wet and wild with fun. the weather, however, did not cooperate. we had a full on THUNDERSTORM start four hours before the party started. levi and abe were so excited to be running in the rain, but i was FREAKED OUT a little lot! levi kept telling me not to worry!!! he said we could have everyone stand under the large umbrellas papa's acquired or hang out inside. and the ever optimistic joshua thought it would just blow over. and like usual, he was right. it was a lot cooler than we anticipated, but it made it much nicer for the parents to enjoy a nice day out doors. i did feel super bad for the kiddos though because they were freezing when they got out of the pool. we also decided not to do the sprinkler, the slip n slide, and the otter pops. but, we will have plenty of time to use those for summer play dates!

levi asked me to get down his pens and scissors so he could draw. then he came out and told me he drew a picture as a decoration for abe's party!!!

levi wanted to put them on the tree with tape, but he learned that didn't work. we used twine instead. i love how he tries to DRAW PEOPLE features.

sunday, may 23, 2010. so abe started running a FEVER friday night. saturday morning i took him to the doctors and got him another round or antibiotics for what we thought was a lingering sinus infection. he had ended his last round on monday the 17th for what really was a sinus infection. however, he kept coughing in the mornings and so bad on wednesday that my mom could hear him in the next hotel room when we were in cali. now i'm not so sure the fever is from the sinus infection because he woke up today, shortly before 6 am (ouch), running a fever and then PUKING (sorry, graphic i know) 3 times. we went back to sleep and when he woke up, he was back to his normal self. he kept down his ibuprofen which lowered his temperature. we skipped church. instead levi requested my help in making a "CARPORT" out of mega blocks for his tractor and trailer.

joshua had been begging me for a couple of weeks to cut his hair. today was the day we finally had an opportunity to do so. it was super windy, but gorgeous out. levi wanted me to cut his hair too because a HAIRCUT=LOLLY POP. so, even though he and abe didn't really need one, i gave them a little trim up and a lolly. here are they're BEFORE AND AFTERS. the boys you can barely tell:)

         

   

       

we were so excited about the COLD weather tonight. this may be the last time they wear JACKETS for a while. tonight joshua took the boys over to the torrington's to watch the SUNS game. i stayed home and worked on my new little HOBBYof blogging.

the boys wanted to put HATS on. abe's head is so HUGE his doesn't fit anymore.

this one is the BEST. abe gets SO loopy before bed. i LOVE levi's i heart music shirt.

***Levi learned how to WHISTLE today. he'd been trying to learn because espen was whistling on our trip to CA. he is so excited!***
