joshua and i were invited to dan's 50th birthday party. the date: saturday, may 15, 2010. the place: monterra at westworld. the time: 6:30 for us with dan arriving at 7:00. the theme: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! janet, dan's wife, really knows how to throw a party. joshua and i had only met a few months before dan's 40th birthday surprise party. a WHOPPING 10 YEARS ago!!! the rush's have always been so good to joshua and i. joshua taught their son, jacob, piano lesson for many years. They'd let joshua house sit when they'd go out of town (before we were married). they let us stay at their CABIN in happy jack a few times where we'd go on quading adventures in the forest. they let us stay at their condo in CHICAGO last summer that was literally across the street from the field museum of natural history, the shedd aquarium, and the adler planitarium on lakeshore drive. they also have us over every so often to sift through cool stuff/clothes they don't need any more. we are so fortunate to know such kind and GENEROUS PEOPLE! here are a few picture from the CRAZY COOL event.

the center pieces were tubs of beers with photos of dan from various stages of his life...again hilar. the confetti had pictures of dan as well.

after the birthday cake, janet asked everyone to step out onto the patio that oevrlooked the polo field to watch a huge "surprise" fireworks display.
