packin' and levi's double ear infection.

friday, june 25, 2010. carl came and got the boys at 8:30 am. joshua was at ASU for his class. so, i was able to pack all but joshua's bag. then it was off to CLEANING our home which had become a DISASTER ZONE with all the sick, "i'm not leaving the couch," business. it was so bad that i was up until 2:15 am and it was still not to my liking. joshua got home at about 6:30 pm and had a ton to do outside to get it ready. the boys came home at 8:30 pm. audrey had mentioned that levi hadn't been hearing well all day. i said i had noticed that the day before, but ultimately chalked it up to his not wanting to hear me intentionally. (ie. selective hearing) she thought the same thing at 1st, but realized, as she's standing 2 feet away, HE JUST PLAIN CAN'T HEAR. i so PANICKED because we were getting on a plane in a matter of hours. i hopped online to look up urgent cares, but we were a half hour too late. they all closed a 8:00 pm. luckily carl called phoenix baptist's emergency room and asked if they new of a place open later. the suggested looking up GOOD NIGHT PEDIATRICS. sure enough they were open until 5:00 am. so, at 10:30 pm levi and i were on the road and by 11:30 we picked up his PRESCRIPTION at walgreens. they dosed him with motrin before we left and said to give him more and hour before we take off so his ears wouldn't hurt too much!!! another little set back was that abe had napped from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. so, when he got home he was ready to party or be held which doesn't make it easy to do what ya gotta do. joshua and abe went to bed at 1:30ish am and i went to bed at 2:15 only to be awakened by levi at 2:30. he hopped into bed with us. then the alarm went off at 3:00 am. it was time to get going again. nice little cat nap. ha.
we actually didn't end up using all these. can you believe it?!!! the block's aren't known to pack light:)

abe's 2 year doctor appointment, plumbing and hair cuts.

thursday, june 24, 2010. abraham's doctor appointment stats: WEIGHT 29 lbs. 6 oz., HEIGHT 36 inches, HEAD 19 1/2 inches. good news is abe's ear infection that was detected last week has cleared!!! and abe is hitting all his milestones. earlier in the morning levi was watching bob the builder's sky scrappers which inspired this:
plumber levi. scoping out the problem.
i love how abe is watching.
levi discovered the problem in the pipes. abraham's trying to steal the tape measure.
mr. fix it.
it's haircut time again. we wanted the boys to look their best for our trip. it was icky sticky out, but the boys did good knowing they'd get a lolly pop when done.
before.
after.
chocolate tootsie pop. i forgot to take pics of levi:(

levi's packing, toy repair.

wednesday, june 23, 2010. joshua and i were talking about packing for our trip to illinois. 10 minutes later levi comes out with his backpack packed full of goodies and proceeds to show us what all he is taking with him.
so cute. levi wanted to bring an airplane!
mr. and mrs. clause. (so they can enjoy a little cooler weather perhaps?)
abe was just as excited about the stash. both boys are excited to see grandma erm!!!
abraham climbed up on some books in front of his bookcase (we have so many they are overflowing off the shelves.) and he got into a no no drawer that had old party hats. so at one point all four of us had party hats on and were singing happy birthday to abey:)
papa making toy repairs. he hot glue gunned this guys leg back on.
papa gave levi a watermelon bowl. he has to scoop it out.

papa's father's day present.

tuesday, june 22, 2010. the boys worked super hard on papa's present, but abraham was asleep when we got home from the movie and ice cream on father's day. we were gonna give pops his present on monday, but this whole sickness business has turned our days into blurs. we didn't end up giving them to him until tonight.
levi giving papa his dragon card.
when i told levi we needed to make a card, he said he wanted to make a dragon, but he wanted me to draw it. i started to draw it, but levi decided he wanted to try it. so, papa ended up with two dragon cards.
papa couldn't keep his eyes open. they were really bothering him.
another eyes closed shot.
suspense.
yay! papa loved it. levi is explaining how he and abe each did different pieces. there is an L for levi and an A for abe.
it's a dragonfly to hang outside with our large glass dragonfly.
so cute.
papa's poor eyes.
love.
the finished product. beautiful.
levi's hair is sticking up with static. hahaha.
the cards. the dragon on the left has abe's and levi's finger painted hand prints for flames.

abraham bashed his lip and nose!

tuesday, june 22, 2010. so, as my previous post stated, the day started out ok considering joshua and i are super sickly. the boys spent much of the day keeping each other entertained. joshua had pushed the couch and coffee table closer to the stereo so he could plug the computer in and get better volume for his movie. abe was playing on the arm that is usually up against papa's piano chair. he was monkeying around and rolled off it. levi's the one who saw how it happened. i just caught it out of the corner of my eye and heard the smack of his face meeting the ground. he was screaming and crying:((( joshua swooped him up and did the first inspection. i freak out at blood. i saw he was bleeding terribly and immediately went into dilated pupils, hand shacking, heart racing mode. i thought for sure his teeth were dislodged, but neither of us wanted to check them at that point. abe wouldn't talk and just wasn't himself. it reminded me of the time levi rolled off our bed and fractured his skull!!! within10 minutes he was asleep. i called the doctors to see if we needed to wake him. she said wait an hour or two, but look for about 50 scary signs over the next 24 hours. joshua had to leave for his doctor appointment a half hour later. i was afraid to be alone, thinking something could go wrong while he was gone. but, in the end he was totally fine. i guess his lip broke his fall. pour kiddo.
trying to get abe to smile so we can see his teeth, but he was not having it. we just kept giving him ice to suck on.
it HURTS just looking at him.
the nurse said i couldn't give him any pain relief because it could mask the symptoms.
luckily levi conked out too.
sleepyheads.
just minutes before i was supposed to check on him he ended up repositioning himself, so i knew he wasn't totally out of it. he ended up waking up in true abraham form. puffy lip smile on his face. then he just kept running his tongue back and forth on his lip. after that it never seemed to bother him and by the next morning his swelling was totally gone.

the day started out ok.

tuesday. june 22, 2010. the day started out ok considering  joshua and i are totally sick and in "all i want to do is veg mode". papa spent most of the day on the couch watching movies, which for him is actually torture, and i caught up on my blogging. the boys spent a lot of time playing together. the day started out ok, but shortly after the last picture, abe fell off the arm of the couch flat on his face. it was pretty stressful after that with 24 hour monitoring. i'm gonna blog about it seperately.
breakfast in the gator. pic by papa.
abe just licks the peanut butter and jelly off and ditches the bread.
abraham came up to me like this.
then said ahhhhhh. grapes!!! from the garden.
the boys playing in the sandbox. picture through the window.
the recycle truck came late today so the boys got to watch. it used to be part of our weekly routine, but then they switched to like 6 am, so we miss it:(
papa drew levi a car carrying semi.
levi drawing while sitting next to me.
cute despite the crusties.
making repairs on the swing set.
sawing.
abe naked as usual.
watermelon!!!
levi made a watermellon rind cake. papa tried to make a candle on top.
chef levi.
seriously? we ate a ton of watermellon at lunch i guess.
otter pop time.
sir isaac lime green.
sweet face.
levi repeatedly "SCARED" me by jumping at me from behind the couch.
i love the blur and the pure joy on levi's face.
not flattering of me, but this is what we were doing:) i'm so scared.
i love how kids tell you what they are going to do before they do it and tell you how you are supposed to react. like when they hide and tell you where they're hiding and hide there over and over.
papa love.
about this time the boys and papa started horsing around a bit. then papa went back to resting and the boys continued. that's when abe fell!!!
